If you live in California or another US state with a consumer privacy law, you can opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information for targeted advertising. Use the button below.
This applies to this browser. It stops personalised advertising and the sharing of advertising identifiers. It does not stop ads from appearing, and it does not affect the monthly rate alert if you subscribed to it.
What this actually changes
Opting out tells our advertising provider not to use advertising identifiers to personalise the ads you see, and not to share them for that purpose. Ads may still appear — they will be non-personalised. The choice is stored in this browser's local storage, so it applies to this browser only; clearing the site's data resets it, and other browsers or devices need their own opt-out.
What we collect in the first place
Very little. The bill calculator runs entirely in your browser — the numbers you type are never sent to us or stored. We have no accounts and no login. If you sign up for the monthly rate alert, we store the email address and the state you chose with our email provider, solely to send that alert. We do not sell your personal information for money
BillShocker does not sell personal information for money. Some US state laws define “sale” and “sharing” broadly enough to cover the use of advertising identifiers for targeted advertising, which is why this opt-out exists.
